Capital Gate – Abu Dhabi

Landing in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, it is hard to miss the leaning tower in the skyline of Abu Dhabi. Mostly referred to as the ‘leaning tower of Abu Dhabi’, it is after all the most unique and the most important business centre of the plush city. With a height of 160 metres and a bent of 18 degrees towards the west, the Capital Gate stands next to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre and is the tallest building in the city.

Not just a symbol of the modernist approach of United States but also, an example of man’s creative genius is as early years as 1931; the Empire State Building of New York is a point of attraction for both old and young tourists visiting the city. This skyscraper of Manhattan has 103 floors and was the tallest building of the world during its inauguration time. It stands at the juncture of intersection between 5th Avenue and the West 34th Street. If not for anything else then those of you who have watched King Kong are bound to remember the famous climb of the giant up the Empire State Building.

Žižkov Television Tower – Prague – Czech Republic

During the communist regime a number of ambitious architectural projects were undertaken in many parts of Eastern Europe. The Žižkov Television Tower which stands in the Žižkov district of Prague in the Czech Republic is both a famous and an infamous building of that era. The construction of this transmitting tower took place between 1985 and 1992 and is currently the tallest building of Prague.
